Energy Efficiency

Fullers Energy is certified by the Building Performance Institute to conduct surveys of energy efficiency. We can save you substantial money by identifying energy inefficiencies in your home or place of business and providing you with cost-effective ways to get the most out of every energy dollar.

Energy EfficiencyMany of us have homes that are inefficient with respect to energy usage, especially heating and cooling: hot air leaking out during the winter, cool air escaping during the summer. Unprotected and uninsulated windows, doors, floors and ceilings allow the heat or cold outside to enter your home.

Many old water heaters and boilers operate at efficiency levels of 60% to 70%. That is to say, for every dollar that you spend on energy to heat water or heat your house, you are only getting a 60% to 70% return. $0.30 to $0.40 of every dollar goes up the chimney. New water heaters operate at 92% to 96% efficiency and have heat recapturing systems that reclaim any heat that would otherwise escape. Many air conditioning systems also operate at very low efficiency. Replacing these units with new high efficiency ones can provide substantial savings on energy costs.

Often, significant savings can be realized simply by retrofitting insulation.

Whatever the appropriate solution is for you, making your home or business as energy efficient as possible and using alternatives to fossil fuel, will save you money and shrink your carbon footprint substantially.

Some states, in an effort to encourage people to reduce energy dependency, offer rebates on the purchase of new high-efficiency appliances, heating units and air conditioning. To find out what is available in your state, go to Find your state on the map and click on it.
